چکیده
Today, more and enterprises are embarking on a digital transformation where most of their applications hosted in the Cloud. As result, reliable Wide Area Network (WAN) has become primary need to interconnect distributed branch offices data centers that accommodate those applications. Software-Defined (SD-WAN) represents promising technology solution for next-generation enterprise networks, being able increase network agility reduce costs. In this paper, we present an experimental SD-WAN capable running optimizing delay-sensitive high-priority services, such as real-time video streaming, while minimizing downtime caused by failures. This comprises monitoring traffic engineering system SD-WAN. The first consists Transport-layer Passive Monitoring (TPM) based extended Berkeley Packet Filter (eBPF) with goal TCP flows; second application, inside controller, orchestrating consideration measurements ensuring rapid recovery resilience case unexpected congestion events. We validate our over two testbeds: is laboratory at Politecnico di Milano, deployed municipal Italian city. Results show can overall service availability meeting stringent QoS requirements services.s

In-Order Delivery Delay of Transport Layer Coding
A large number of streaming applications use reliable transport protocols such as TCP to deliver content over the Internet. However, head-of-line blocking due to packet loss recovery can often result in unwanted behavior and poor application layer performance. Transport layer coding can help mitigate this issue by helping to recover from lost packets without waiting for retransmissions. We cons...
متن کاملA transport-layer approach for improving thin-client performance in a WAN environment
The performance of thin-client systems based on TCP depends on network quality, so it becomes worse in a WAN environment; however, the effects of TCP mechanisms have not been clarified. In this paper, we first describe the download traffic of thin-client systems as a two-state model with interactive data flows in response to keystrokes and bulk data flows related to screen updates. Since users ...
متن کاملTransport Layer Issues in Delay Tolerant Mobile Networks
The tremendous increase in wireless devices and user mobility have ultimately resulted in a new set of networking challenges that previously did not exist. Some of these challenges include large delays, intermittent connectivity and most importantly, the absence of an endto-end path from sources to destinations. Networks characterized by one or more of these challenges are called Delay Tolerant...
